Registered Nurse; Primary Care; 330 PRN Guidelines Rule Statement The clinic is physically closed on all recognized company holidays, including the Friday or Monday "observed" days for holidays that fall on a weekend. PRN employees will not be scheduled to work on these closures and are not eligible for holiday pay. To maintain active status, PRN employees must fulfill a minimum requirement of three (3) shifts per calendar month and meet the seasonal holiday availability rules outlined below. Core Policy Rules· Unpaid Closures: PRN employees are paid strictly for hours worked. Clinic closures are unpaid.· Monthly Shift Obligation: Holiday closures do not lower the monthly requirement. PRN staff must proactively schedule their three (3) required shifts on the remaining open weekdays of that month. Seasonal Holiday Work RequirementsTo ensure fair scheduling distribution during peak vacation seasons, all PRN employees must work at least one shift immediately preceding or following a recognized clinic closure in both the summer and winter seasons. 1. Summer Holiday Requirement (Must choose at least ONE)PRN staff must work the business day immediately before or immediately after one of the following:· Memorial Day· Juneteenth· Independence Day (July 4th)· Labor Day2. Winter Holiday Requirement (Must choose at least ONE)PRN staff must work the business day immediately before or immediately after one of the following:· Thanksgiving Day· Black Friday (if the clinic closes)· Christmas Eve / Christmas Day· New Year’s Eve / New Year’s DayNote: For weekend holidays, this rule applies to the business days directly touching the Friday or Monday observed clinic closure.
