Job Summary

The intern role is designed to expose and challenge students pursuing or interested in a career in Human Resources or a related field. This position will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Human Resources department, with direct oversight from the HR Generalist(s). The intern will gain hands-on experience across multiple HR functions including onboarding, employee services, compliance, and program administration. Work hours will be approximately 15-20 hours per week.

  • Willingness to ask questions when in need of direction or clarification.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with program coordination and administrative tasks.
  • Work under direct oversight from the HR Generalist(s).
  • Serve as primary contact for employees requiring employment verification through HRSA.
  • Assist employees with Public Service Loan Forgiveness verification requests.
  • Support HRSA Bureau of Health Workforce related verifications.
  • Employment Verification: Process general employment verification requests.
  • Send DocuSign envelopes to new employees, including job descriptions.
  • Monitor and track completion of all required new hire paperwork and returned documents.
  • Prepare and organize orientation materials.
  • Order lunch for orientation sessions.
  • Process and distribute access credentials to new hires.
  • Coordinate and send welcome communications.
  • Update internal systems with new hire information.
  • Audit employee records.
  • Forward educational seminar information to appropriate recipients.
  • Support the collection process for new and renewed insurance declarations.
  • Process and track wellness program participation forms.
  • Monitor and track new employee and annual flu shot exemptions.
  • Process terminations in the system and support rewards redemption.
  • Provide administrative support for expense management.
  • Process and coordinate HR supply requests.
  • Support invoice processing.
  • Order and distribute business cards.
  • Coordinate uniform orders and distribution.
  • Provide administrative support for student coordination with direct interaction/representation.
  • Coordinate with credentialing department as needed.
  • Assist with scheduling and tracking fingerprinting requirements.

  • Participate in various HR projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
