Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required; or demonstrated relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
- Two years’ experience in Human Resources Field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS software.
- PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
About the Position
The HR Generalist will provide daily support to the Human Resources team, primarily assisting the HR Business Partner with various HR functions. This role involves collaboration with the recruitment, learning & development, and benefits teams. The HR Generalist will also assist with employee relations, performance management, compliance, reporting, and initiatives to enhance employee experience.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, offering guidance on policies and procedures.
- Assist in resolving conflicts and facilitating discussions between employees and management as necessary.
- Assist in conducting employee investigations related to workplace concerns, grievances, or policy violations.
- Actively participate in initial progressive discipline meetings to address performance issues or policy violations.
- Collaborate with the recruitment team to understand staffing needs and support the interview and selection process when needed.
- Act as a backup to the Talent Specialist by completing fingerprinting in the BCI system for candidates and current employees.
- Assist with completing, reviewing, and approving HRIS action items as directed.
- Aid in onboarding new employees to ensure a smooth transition into the organization.
- Support the performance management process by collecting and analyzing performance data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies and assist with policy updates as necessary.
- Actively work towards delivering high-quality employee experience, co-creating this experience with team members at all levels of the organization.
- Manage employee information in relevant databases to ensure accuracy, including personal data, compensation, benefits, attendance, and termination information.
- Collaborate with the HRIS Analyst to compile reports and seek opportunities for automation and employee self-service.
- Assist with conducting regular audits on staff files, HRIS data, and benefit elections, working closely with team members to validate information and implement necessary changes. Identify areas for process improvement as needed.
- Administer employee surveys using the designated survey system. Review and monitor responses, escalating concerns to the appropriate individuals to ensure timely addressal. Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Work with the HR Business Partner to coordinate organization-wide employee recognition programs, ensuring a high-quality experience for recognized employees.
- Complete special projects by clarifying objectives, setting timetables, conducting research, organizing information, and fulfilling necessary transactions.
- Assist in facilitating open enrollment for wellness benefits.
- Respond to vendor FMLA requests to assist with prompt processing, monitoring, and management of leave administration.
- Collaborate with the HR Business Partner to address employee safety concerns. In the event of an incident or accident, work with the manager to facilitate the employee's return to work as soon as possible.
- Partner with the HR Business Partner to plan staff activities that promote team building and connection, approaching all tasks creatively and collaboratively to ensure the success of events and celebrations, including all-staff events, milestone celebrations, summer events, and Veterans' Day.
- Support the organization in utilizing the SLII model by providing advice and direction in alignment with its principles.
- Collaborate closely with management and employees to enhance work relationships, boost morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Other Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Attend training sessions and seminars to stay updated on Human Resources laws, regulations, and trends.
