Examples of Duties

Under supervision, secures and evaluates information on the financial status and credit rating of applicants for real property improvement loans in rehabilitation and conservation project areas. TYPICAL TASKS: Compiles data on the credit history of applicants and interviews applicants. Assesses applicants’ ability to finance a mortgage loan and develops realistic payment schedules. Prepares preliminary applications and related documents for FHA loans and determines eligibility of applicants for FHA Mortgage insurance, and prepares reports on these activities. Advises property owners on the best type of mortgage loans for their individual circumstances. Expedites the processing of loan applications to lending agencies. Inspects property offered as security for mortgage loans. Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

A High School Diploma or GED is required. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Public Administration, Accounting, Finance, or closely related field from a four-year accredited college or university is also required. Three years of experience working with federal grant administration and social service agencies is required. A valid State of Ohio Driver’s License is required. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 30 pounds. (Substitution: Two years of directly related experience may substitute for each year of college education lacking.)
