Summary
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum is looking for a strategic and results-driven Assistant Manager of Inventory & Allocations, located in our newly updated off-site warehouse, to oversee inventory distribution across our Museum Store & Airport Store. This role is responsible for optimizing warehouse allocation strategies, ensuring efficient stock replenishment, and improving supply chain efficiency to meet retail demand. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory management, warehouse operations, and logistics within a retail distribution environment. This role reports to the Manager of Inventory Allocation and Logistics and works in tandem with the Customer Fulfillment Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inventory Allocation Strategy: Develop and execute inventory allocation strategies to ensure optimal stock distribution across our retail locations.
- Stock Replenishment & Optimization: Monitor stock levels and adjust warehouse allocations to maintain ideal inventory levels, reducing stockouts and overstock situations.
- Warehouse Capacity Planning: Work closely with warehouse teams to manage space utilization and ensure efficient product placement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with merchandising, store operations teams, and Customer Fulfillment Manager to align inventory allocation with business objectives.
- System & Process Management: Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and inventory tracking tools to improve allocation efficiency.
- Order Fulfillment Support: Ensure accurate and timely allocation of inventory to support both retail stores’ replenishment.
- Issue Resolution & Performance Improvement: Identify and resolve allocation discrepancies, shipping delays, and warehouse capacity challenges while implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Act as primary liaison between UPS/FedEx drivers, and accepts or denies deliveries based on purchase order data.
- Compliance & Reporting: Maintain accurate allocation records, generate performance reports, and ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
- People Leadership:
- Train, support, and motivate a dynamic team responsible for receiving, picking, loading, delivering, transporting, unloading, and completing other warehouse tasks.
- Personnel management including but not limited to team member selection, performance management, schedules, and timecards.
- Maintain standard operating procedures and expectations to ensure a positive work environment.
Duties include but may not be limited to the above.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3+ years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or supply chain logistics, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Proven experience in retail distribution or multi-location warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in WMS & data analysis tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and drive strategic decisions.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and create solutions.
- Knowledge of demand planning, forecasting techniques, and lean inventory management principles.
- Must have a clean, valid driver’s license and the ability to make product deliveries at two retail locations in a timely and professional manner using company van.
- Ability to successfully complete a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame background check and drug screen, and a TSA background check for airport employee clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in multi-channel retail distribution, including e-commerce and brick-and-mortar store fulfillment.

- Physical Demands:
- Strength: Ability to lift/move items weighing up to 50 lbs. (approximately)
- Type: Ability to effectively express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word. Ability to hear accurately to monitor radios and interact with the public. Ability to judge distance and space relationships; identify and distinguish colors, numbers, and figures. Ability to perform tasks concurrently. Work involves walking or standing most of the time but may involve sitting for brief periods of time.

- Computers, telephone, walkie talkies, calculator, and other retail equipment.
Safety Hazards
- Minimal hazards. Potential hazards associated with stacked boxes, dusty environment, the use of a pallet jack.

- Motor Coordination: Ability to make necessary movements in selecting, picking and depositing items.
- Finger Dexterity: Ability to pick, pinch or otherwise work with fingers to operate above equipment. Ability to pick up a variety of items and place them on shelves; to move knobs, buttons or switches.
- Manual Dexterity: Ability to seize, hold, grasp, turn or otherwise work with hands. Ability to shake, sort, fold or stack items; to place and retrieve items.

Benefits and Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $50,000 – $56,000, commensurate with experience and certifications.
