POSITION: Program Associate, Student Programs
REPORTS TO: Director of Global Education
OVERVIEW: Oversees CCWA’s Model United Nations program and supports other global education programs such as the Bridges to the World programming.
Salary range: $38,000 – $43,000 depending on qualifications and experience
Essential Responsibilities
1. Coordinate CCWA’s Model United Nations program
2. Support the Bridges to the World program
3. Carry out other program assignments, as reasonably requested.
Key Duties and Expectations
Across all program areas, the Associate of Student Programs will successfully:
1. Generate program objectives, timelines, and budgets, and work cross departmentally to ensure that goals are reached and CCWA’s student-based programs have a significant and positive impact in Northeast Ohio.
2. Design, plan, and deliver: (a) Model UN conferences and student training workshops; (b) Bridges to the World student workshops; and (c) other school-based programming, as needed.
3. Coordinate registration process and logistics for successful conferences and workshops; this includes working with school administrators throughout registration and billing.
4. Conduct outreach to schools and provide training for teacher advisors and students, and build positive relationships with schools, teacher-advisors, and students.
5. Initiate collaboration with universities/organizations to recruit Model UN conference volunteers and committee chairs. Train, guide and manage student volunteers.
6. Supervise the work of interns (researching & drafting conference papers and support with conference logistics), volunteers, and vendors to ensure successful program execution.
7. Create training, marketing, and social media materials.
8. Implement data collection and evaluation processes to track program performance.
9. Work with COO and CEO to develop funding proposals for Student Programs, support the cultivation of funders, and recruit academic members.

Job Relationships
The Associate of Student Programs will work independently and under the direction of the Director for Global Education. The Associate will collaborate with CCWA colleagues and board committees as an effective and proactive team player to ensure positive working relationships and strong communication across the organization. This position requires frequent interaction with students and educators, CCWA members, volunteers, community partners, funders, the general public, and the CCWA Board of Directors.
Qualifications and Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, English, Communications, Education, or other relevant field (required).
• Have experience or past participation in a Model United Nations program (or similar program).
• Enjoy working with students ages 12-18 (required). Teaching experience is an asset.
• Possess and maintain strong knowledge of current events and international affairs.
• International experience and attentiveness to diversity, equity and inclusion, including cultural diversity, preferred.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and highly developed interpersonal skills. Candidate will be effective in delivering speeches at events, leading workshops and training sessions.
• Demonstrate strong project management skills, with an ability to lead multiple projects and to plan and prioritize.
• Work well independently, be a self-starter and make decisions autonomously.
• Be capable of managing vast amounts of detail.
• Enjoy taking initiative to find new and creative ways to grow the programs.
• Interface with a wide variety of individuals with tact and diplomacy.
• Have the ability to attend early morning and evening events to meet students’ schedules, to occasionally work on weekends, and to remain flexible to meet programming and conference needs (required).
• Possess knowledge of and experience utilizing social media tools. Knowledge of and experience with MS Office (required). Familiarity with WordPress and Canva is an asset.
• Have daily access to a car; possess a safe driving record and automobile insurance.
Must be able to lift 25 lbs. and transport large quantities of supplies to conferences.
