Team Manager (Production Supervisor) – Midnight Shift

We are seeking an energetic Team Manager (Production Supervisor) to lead our Midnight Shift Coating Operations in Painesville, Ohio. In this role, you will be the front-line catalyst for excellence, combining our core values with technical expertise to drive the success of your team and the business. Role and Responsibilities
As the Midnight Shift Team Manager (11:30 PM – 7:30 AM), you report to the Coating Department Manager and provide leadership for all Safety, Quality, Service, Productivity, and Cost Reduction goals. Your mission is to foster a customer-focused environment where standard operating procedures are followed and continuous improvement is the norm.
People Leadership & Development: You will perform general management duties, including exercising authority over staffing, performance appraisals through the Global Performance Management System (GPS), and professional development. You are responsible for attracting and retaining high-potential talent, ensuring team members are trained, and providing regular, actionable feedback.
Operational Excellence: You will manage daily work schedules, monitor production flow, and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. By analyzing operational data, you will implement strategies to reduce manufacturing waste and process complexity.
Safety & Quality Champion: Safety is our top priority. You will lead 5S activities, conduct daily safety huddles, and ensure all team members follow standard operating conditions. You will maintain rigorous quality control processes to ensure every product meets Avery Dennison’s high standards.
Leading Change & Collaboration: You will collaborate across functional areas to resolve complex problems and develop improved processes. By "Championing Collaboration," you will work with others to align on shared business outcomes and build a cohesive team culture.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate "Self-Leadership" by displaying agility and a track record of delivering results despite obstacles.
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field (such as Engineering) is strongly preferred.
Experience: 5+ years of operational experience is required, with prior team leader or supervisory experience preferred. You must have a proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a diverse team performing varied tasks.
Technical Skills: You should be skilled in scheduling, planning, and budgeting. Familiarity with Enterprise Lean Sigma (ELS) Operating Principles and the ability to implement operational improvement strategies for safety, cost, and inventory is essential.
