Job Summary

  • Y-Haven is hiring Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselors / Case Managers at multiple experience and licensure levels.
  • Candidates are placed into the appropriate level based on education, experience, and licensure.
  • This position combines clinical counseling, residential treatment group facilitation, and in-house case management within a trauma-informed, structured clinical environment.

About the Program

  • Residential and outpatient recovery services for adults with substance use disorders.
  • Clients often present with complex co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Many residents have chronic medical needs, trauma histories, or housing instability.
  • Clinicians work within an interdisciplinary clinical team using structured treatment planning and evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual substance use disorder counseling.
  • Facilitate residential treatment groups, outpatient groups, and intensive outpatient groups.
  • Deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based interventions.
  • Provide comprehensive in-house case management (no community transport or mobile case management required).
  • Work with clients experiencing complex co-occurring substance use, mental health, and medical needs.
  • Maintain clinical documentation in electronic medical records.
  • Collaborate within an interdisciplinary clinical team using structured treatment planning.
  • Participate in treatment planning, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Advanced responsibilities may include diagnostic assessments, mentoring, supervision support, and quality assurance.

Salary & Career Levels

Level I — SUD Counselor / Case Manager (Developing Clinician)

Typical Licensure: CDCA (renewed), LCDC II, SWA

Salary Range (2025): $36,013 – $54,019

Level II — Licensed Clinician

Typical Licensure: LCDCIII, LSW, LPC

Salary Range (2025): $40,034 – $60,051

Level III — Senior Clinician

Typical Licensure: LCDCIII, LSW/LPC or higher; Master’s preferred

Salary Range (2025): $45,916 – $68,874

Qualifications

  • Experience working with substance use disorders; 1-3 years experience preferred.
  • Ability to facilitate residential and outpatient treatment groups.
  • Active CDCA (renewed) or higher licensure required (Preliminary CDCA not sufficient).
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days.
  • Commitment to YMCA mission and values.
  • Licensure examples: CDCA (renewed), LCDC II, LCDC III, LSW, LPC
    • Must be free from sanctions or exclusions from the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) and the State of Ohio Department of Medicaid.
