Wellness Consultants help to create a member-focused atmosphere, building meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, guests, and donors. You will conduct facility tours with prospective members, encourage member interactions, and support the onboarding and new member orientation process.

Tasks include phone and in-person interaction with prospective and current YMCA members, membership and program enrollment, data entry, renewals, and problem solving. You will participate in fun recognition, appreciation, and fundraising events, being visibly involved in a positive and friendly manner.

This is a Part Time position.

Experience and Certifications:

  • Experience in sales and service preferred.
  • Experience in health and wellness strongly preferred, especially NCCA-accredited personal training and/or group exercise certification.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • General knowledge of basic exercise physiology and correct use of sectorized equipment, cardio equipment and free weights.
  • Basic understanding of common office computer software, including Word and Excel.
  • Effective motivation and communication skills, interpersonal skills and sales skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the YMCA mission.
  • Ability to work with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions
  • Willing to be a mandated reporter for any signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect.
