Job Summary

The Event Staff, working under direct supervision, is responsible for preparing facilities for events and providing food service at the various hospitality centers of the organization. The role carries out activities that include greeting and seating customers, serving meals, directing customers to and answering questions about the food and beverages offered, setting and clearing tables, room preparation and resetting event space. The role is focused on helping and supporting the event management team in planning, organizing, and executing various events.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepares facilities and provides food service at the organization's hospitality centers which includes greeting and seating customers, serving meals, directing customers to and answering questions about the food and beverages offered, setting and clearing tables, room preparation, monitoring buffet lines and beverage services, and resetting event space.
  • Coordinates logistics for events, such as booking venues, arranging transportation, managing accommodations, and ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Liaises with vendors and suppliers, negotiates contracts, and ensures that all necessary agreements and permits are in place.
  • Works to ensure event/room setups are completed accurately, safely, efficiently and based on the most up to date Banquet Event Order (BEO).
  • This can include moving, setting up, taking down, and putting away tables, chairs and other related items necessary for the event.
  • Maintains product and equipment for dining rooms and meeting spaces.
  • Informs the leader when items need repairs or replacement.
  • Interacts with the guests by directing them to their appropriate meeting room, assisting with food and beverage needs, and thoroughly answering all questions.
  • Maintains a sense of professionalism at all times in appearance, mannerisms, and during guest interaction.
  • This includes adhering to all of Hospitality Universal Standards and Experience Maps.
  • Follows and executes all Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Communicates with Culinary team to gain information regarding the menus being served and provide any necessary information for noted dietary restrictions.
  • Assists others on the team as needed to ensure work is completed and a high level of customer service is provided.
  • Communicates and documents any changes and/or updates of an event to the Manager on Duty.
  • Attends training sessions as required.
  • Complies with all OSHA and safety/training/certification standards within required timeframes.
  • Achieves the high standards of quality, production, cooperation, and service set by the company for our employees, guests and customers.

Job Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of experience in Event Management, Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and/or commensurate experience.
