Job Summary

Join Westfield’s Risk Control team and gain hands-on experience in helping businesses identify and mitigate risks. This internship offers exposure to commercial insurance operations and real-world risk assessment practices. Under direct supervision, you will support day-to-day operations, assist with projects, and participate in training programs designed to enhance your professional skills.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist Risk Control Consultants with data analysis, research, and reporting related to commercial risk exposures.
  • Participate in client site visits to observe risk assessments and learn best practices for loss prevention.
  • Support administrative tasks and maintain accurate records for projects and departmental initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team members and other interns on cross-functional projects.
  • Attend training sessions, workshops, and networking events as part of the internship program.
  • Prepare presentations and reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
  • For field roles: Travel up to 25% to client locations for risk control activities.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and/or commensurate experience.
  • Either actively enrolled in an academic institution in pursuit of a degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Safety Science, Engineering, Business, or related field or is a recent college graduate, typically having attained a degree within the past 12 months.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) preferred.
  • For field roles, only: Valid driver's license and a driving record that conforms to company standards.

Location

Hybrid defined as three or more days per week in the office.
