Job Summary
The Project Manager will lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation. This role also will plan and manage long range projects, programs and 3rd party resources to meet Vistra strategic objectives and manage programs and projects to enhance the commercial availability of new technologies and enhancement to existing technologies. Additionally, the Project Manager is responsible for managing complex identified scope for all aspects of a project with technical input and oversight and will focus on detailed analysis and implementation of generation technologies for application to Vistra operations or commercial development.Job Description
Key Accountabilities
- Establish and maintain processes for managing scope during the project lifecycle, setting quality and performance standards and assessing risks.
- Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan.
- Technical support and oversight for the development of commercial / environmental / reliability / sustainability interests in new technology applications.
- Subject matter expert in areas of value to Vistra
- Technical support to Projects and Operations in the application of technologies at operating plants or plants in development
- Provide innovative engineering solutions for difficult problems
- May be responsible for developing other employees in areas of expertise
- Lead economic justification/analysis for projects
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or greater in an Engineering discipline (preferred) and 10 years of relevant Engineering experience, or 15 years of relevant Engineering experience.
- 10 years Project Management or Commercial Nuclear Experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates and applies knowledge of current and pending regulatory, code and general industry issues to resolve Vistra’s interests.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software applications.
- Proven track record of successfully leading projects from concept to implementation.
- Strong Knowledge of Nuclear Processes, Organization, Planning and Control –Must be able to plan and execute a broad course of action.
- Willing and able to support domestic travel (including overnight travel) to various vendor / company locations.
