Description

The Payroll Administrator will play a key role in the payroll process for a growing, multi-state independent mortgage banking company with 2000+ employees. This position is responsible for reviewing employee timecards, resolving exceptions, generating reports and serving as the first point of contact for payroll-related questions through our ticketing systems. This role requires a high level of confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance, along with a commitment to continuous improvement and strong internal controls.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Review employee timecards for accuracy and resolve exceptions prior to payroll submission.
  • Assist in processing payroll for biweekly (non-exempt) and semi-monthly (exempt and sales) pay frequencies.
  • Generate routine and ad-hoc payroll reports for management.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for payroll-related inquiries via our ticketing system.
  • Support strong internal controls and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Accounting preferred
  • Prior office experience in a professional setting strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in payroll and timekeeping administration is a plus
  • Experience with Paycom or Workday systems is a plus

SKILLS

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Capable of thorough and detailed analysis.
  • Skilled knowledge of how to use spreadsheets (i.e. Microsoft Excel) and demonstrates accurate data entry skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
