Description
BASIC FUNCTION: Under the general supervision of the Maintenance & Facilities Manager, clean and maintain United Cerebral Palsy's facilities in a manner to ensure a safe, clean and comfortable environment for clients, visitors and staff members. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Uphold a professional manner and willingness to work as part of a team committed to providing services to individuals with disabilities and meeting UCP’s mission.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintain grounds by cutting lawns, trimming shrubs, picking up trash, cleaning and clearing walks and driveways and removing snow (using snowplow truck, snow blower, shovel and salt distributor.) Must be flexible with hours in wintertime to accommodate snow removal.
2. Test and maintain swimming pool, boilers, furnaces, water heaters and HVAC units.
3. Ability to obtain pool operator certification.
4. Paint and repair walls when necessary.
5. Make minor repairs to electrical, HVAC units, small appliances, and plumbing systems.
6. Perform minor carpentry tasks.
7. Other cleaning and maintenance duties as required.
8. Floor care and equipment (buffing, stripping, carpet cleaning).
9. Minor maintenance on Agency vehicles.
10. Minor maintenance to adaptive equipment and wheelchairs as needed.
11. Maintain and clean windows, floors, woodwork, ceilings and walls.
12. Maintain and clean public areas, classrooms, treatment rooms, production area, storage areas, lunchrooms and offices by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing, dusting, polishing and waxing.
13. Collect trash by emptying wastebaskets and maintains dumpster area.
14. Make deliveries.
15. Respond to emergencies.
16. Set up rooms for functions and meetings.
17. Receive and store necessary supplies.
18. Other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or GED. Have knowledge of floor equipment and maintenance and cleaning supplies and materials. Be able to perform minor mechanical, electrical, HVAC and has basic pluming skills. Undertake minor carpentry and drywall projects. Have knowledge and ability to paint or stain. Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License with two (2) or fewer moving violations. Be able to stand and bend for 8 hours, climb stairs and ladders and lift at least 50 pounds. Have sufficient eyesight and hearing ability to see if areas are clean and to listen to instructions and requests. Has the ability to perform basic arithmetic functions including converting decimals and fractions. Must successfully complete Ohio pool operator certification within 1st year of employment.
