The Legal Counsel Sales Americas will be a member of the Sales Americas Legal Team within Goodyear’s Global Sales Legal Organization at Global Headquarters in Akron, Ohio. The Legal Counsel will serve as a thought leader and partner to Goodyear’s largest strategic business unit, the Americas. The ideal candidate is business-savvy and client-service oriented, takes initiative in creating and improving legal processes, and excels at delivering high-quality, actionable and timely legal advice in a collaborative, fast-paced work environment.
Job Duties / Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Counsel Goodyear business partners on a wide range of legal issues impacting the organization and its business objectives
- Structure, draft, review and negotiate complex sales, distribution and marketing related contracts of various size and scope for clients
- Provide day-to-day legal advice regarding sales, distribution, advertising, marketing, promotions and Goodyear’s brand sponsorships
- Assist clients with strategic projects relating to new products, services and business models
- Develop and deliver training to clients on various legal topics and policies
- Support clients in connection with contract disputes and settlement discussions
- Counsel and advise clients on applicable laws and regulations, evaluate and mitigate risk, and ensure compliance with Company policy
- Assist and coordinate with other attorneys in the Goodyear Law Department as needed
Key Experience
- A Law degree from an accredited U.S. law school and a member of the bar (not state specific)
- 4+ years of general business law experience at a major law firm and/or in-house corporate legal department, including commercial law and wide-ranging contract experience
- Previous legal experience in advertising, consumer products, and/or antitrust is strongly preferred
- Additional legal experience in the areas of e-commerce, digital marketing, product distribution, government sales or retail is a plus
