Job Summary:
Through a strong Christian worldview, supports & implements relevant programming for children Kindergarten through twelfth grade, including gospel-centered lessons, Bible-based character development, social emotional learning, and academic improvement. Trains and leads the seasonal youth program assistants.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
•Provides leadership and manages summer staff effectively and efficiently.
•Assists in the interviewing of potential summer staff and makes recommendations for hiring.
•Coaches, corrects, rewards, recognizes, and reviews summer staff in accordance with TCM’s Core Values & policies.
Essential Job Functions:
Supports and Implements Programming
•Implements programming that is culturally diverse, Gospel-focused, interesting, and relevant to specific age groups.
•Facilitates daily afterschool programs, special clubs, special events, field trips, utilizing volunteers.
•Facilitates engaging programming on non-school days.
•Coordinates with community partners.
•Oversees summer staff.
•Maintains Safe and Structured Environment
•Exercises classroom management by developing and implementing practices that prevent and minimize situations that lead to incidents.
•Proactively creates and maintains a clean, structured, and orderly environment where youth and staff feel safe.
•Provides support in maintaining integrity of operating practices, recordkeeping, report writing and attendance systems and data control.
•Ensures compliance to established procedures, policies, and safety standards.
School Engagement
•Processes enrollment into schools and assists with transitioning into new schools.
•Communicates and collaborates with Project Act.
•Initiates ongoing communication with schools regarding student needs, progress, goals, and special events (IEPs, behavior plans, etc.).
•Supports students with specific educational needs.
Other Responsibilities
•Initiates communication with residents and school staff for enrollment, attendance, and behavior needs.
•Supports special events within the Family Ministries department.
•Drives/chaperones at special events and field trips.
•Assist childcare staff with programming needs as the census dictates.
