Position Summary:

The quality control supervisor is responsible for leading and directing the day-to-day activities of the plant(s) Quality Control Department. The supervisor is responsible for driving the standardization of quality system processes, development, and implementation of plans for continuous improvement and providing opportunities for personal and professional development of associates. The Quality Control supervisor is an integral part of the Plant Leadership team. He or she must also collaborate with other associates and other cross functional areas within operations. The successful candidate will bring demonstrated expertise in ultrasonic testing, with Level III certification strongly preferred, to effectively support internal non‑destructive testing (NDT) activities and ensure inspection processes meet all quality and regulatory requirements. In this Quality Supervisor role, the candidate will oversee day‑to‑day NDT operations, provide guidance and support to technicians, and maintain strong oversight of supplier NDT programs to verify compliance, consistency, and adherence to established standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the execution of Swagelok’s Quality System, ensuring a team of inspectors and technicians follow all procedures with adequate skill and maximum efficiency across all boundary teams, shifts, and site(s).
  • Develop personal and team skillsets to foster a lead-by-example group of inspection subject matter experts that continually raise the standard of Swagelok’s world class quality culture.
  • Drive site-wide accountability to behavioral Quality Absolutes such that all associates consistently follow routings, knowledgably execute quality plans, and always maintain accurate data.
  • Oversee the collection, interpretation, and application of quality control datasets toward substantiating and prioritizing improvement initiatives.
  • Lead change at the associate and peer level to influence the adoption of continuous improvement initiatives such as new technology introduction and method enhancements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to respond to customer claims and corrective actions promptly.
  • Facilitate material review board (MRB) meetings by coaching operations supervisors through metric interpretation and improvement activities.
  • Report on quality key performance indicators (KPI) and promote data-guided performance recovery plans, as needed.
  • Promote rigorous use of standard tools for solving problems and continuously improving defect prevention and detection practices: DPS, CA, SPC, DOE, Gage R&R, etc.
  • Communicate appropriately crafted summaries of past performance wins/losses and future improvement activities with all levels of Corporate and Operational leadership.
  • Champion and work to ensure continuous quality system audit readiness

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Required:

  • 2+ years of experience with demonstrated leadership ability in a manufacturing environment.
  • MSOffice (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.), systems (SAP, CMMS, etc.) desirable.
  • Technical understanding of product and processes relative to the area of responsibility is a plus.
  • Interpretation and writing of technical documents
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels in the organization including sales and service centers.
  • High school diploma is required.
  • Awareness of ISO9001 requirements, statistical control methods, problem solving techniques, and data analysis tools

Preferred:

  • An associate or bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is preferred
