ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Application Integration Developer role will support architecting and designing applications and assist with the integration of their respective in-house applications, databases, and systems with third-party applications. The incumbent will work collaboratively with department/division application owners to facilitate the maintenance of critical application data and will continuously assess and communicate the application architecture to stakeholders. The incumbent will contribute to the implementation of best practices around design, development, and deployment of integration patterns utilizing cloud-native integration platforms and technologies. This role involves developing and maintaining integrations within our Digital Integration Layer Integration ecosystem. The incumbent will leverage their technical application integrations skills to work closely with Architects in designing and developing integrations using modern integration patterns, with senior guidance as needed.

The Application Integration Developer role will support architecting and designing applications and assist with the integration of their respective in-house applications, databases, and systems with third-party applications.
  • Education

  • Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or in lieu of a degree, at least 3 years of experience in the field of Application Integration or Information Technology

  • Preferred:

  • Certification in Middleware

Required:

Knowledge & Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in application integrations and middleware development [Translation software such as Sterling B2Bi, Communications management software such as BizLink/BizManager ]

  • Experience with event-driven architectures and systems preferably in a cloud environment

  • Strong technical skills in integration technologies, APIs and web services

  • Experience with enterprise-grade integrations, data mapping, and transformation

  • Experience in the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-level architecture (preferably, both on-prem and cloud)

  • Experience in agile methodologies and SDLC

  • Experience in domain driven design in a distributed service environment

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience with iPaaS platforms

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Preferred:

    • Experience with JIRA & Confluence applications

    • Experience with B2B/EDI mapping development and delivery, and EDI system troubleshooting and support

    • Experience with network support and implementation, including SFTP, FTP, HTTP/s, API, AS2

WHAT THE ROLE WILL DO:

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of integration solutions within the Digital Integration layer for in-house and cloud business applications, databases, and systems by collaborating with experienced team members

  • Analyze and troubleshoot integration issues to ensure seamless integration of applications and systems and escalate complex issues to senior team members

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (i.e., Product Owner, DevOps Engineers, business leaders) to identify and build integration solutions to support business needs

  • Support the documentation and development of integration flows and APIs using middleware tools by assisting with testing and troubleshooting

  • Work alongside the Architecture community to assist in implementation of API strategy of the organization

  • Assist with the configuration and maintenance of middleware infrastructure by investigating and resolving incidents under the guidance of experienced team members

  • Assist in providing technical support for integration-related issues, including system outages and performance problems

  • Ensure that the documentation of integration solutions, processes, and procedures is updated consistently and accurately

This role is not remote/ hybrid and will report to Sherwin-Williams Global Headquarters located at 1 Sherwin Way, Cleveland, OH 44113.
