The ‘Senior Financial Analyst – Cost Accounting’ position is a key member of the Enterprise Finance Global Cost Accounting Team – which holds global responsibility for costing-related functions across our Regions and ERP platforms. This position is primarily responsible for managing Standard Costing & Cost Accounting Functions supporting our ‘Architectural’ Paint and Specialty products in North America. This includes ensuring the accurate, consistent, and timely assignment of product standard costs, completion of ‘annual standards’ re-rolls, month end responsibilities for variance accounting and review, and working cross-functionally with selling divisions for new product adds and quotations. This position will work cross-functionally with various members of GSC operations & finance, commercial selling divisions, and other elements of the R&C Cost Team. The position will work regularly with SW business units in the creation and explanation of standard costs, incurred variances, and monthly financial results, driving transparency and profitability for our commercial groups.
This position is not hybrid/remote and will be located at our Global Headquarters in Cleveland, OH.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with a focus in Finance or Accounting
- 3+ years of finance and/or accounting experience
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Access
- Experience with OneStream
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future for employment visa status
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance or an MBA with a focus in Accounting, Finance
- CPA or CMA certification
- Experience with the QAD and Oracle ERP platforms
- Experience in cost development and accounting
- Experience working cross-functionally and multi-nationally
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel.
- Standard Costing methodology
- Experience with developing reporting and monthly variance accounting
- Oracle ERP working knowledge
Travel: 10%
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Monthly close tasks, journal entries, review, and analysis of all cost accounting concepts such as Manufacturing Absorption, Production Variances, and Revaluation related to Paint & Specialty sites.
Daily/weekly involvement in new product adds & quotes to support commercial groups going to market.
Complete the annual standard cost development process, such as owning the Specialty costing model, the development of DRP’s, and Brand Compare development, and production forecast review.
Assist with ad hoc projects such as strategic initiatives or system conversions, the streamlining of costing processes where applicable, and SOP documentation.
Assist with team training and development.
Monitor and process cost hold items
Month end close entries to allocate manufacturing variances to business units utilizing a variety of concepts.
Other tasks and strategic special projects, as assigned.
