ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Lead Domain Architect role is responsible for integrating leading technologies in the design of complex technology solutions within a specific domain, while considering business goals, technical feasibility, and long-term scalability. The incumbent will provide strategic direction, training and mentoring to various stakeholders across the business in the IT-aligned business functional areas using their deep expertise in their specific domain. The role will lead the architecture and development of solutions aligned with the overall business and technology strategy and roadmap, ensuring business functional outcomes are achieved and the architectural runway is in place at the functional level. The incumbent will foster collaboration among stakeholders to understand business needs and implement the best solutions to meet their needs, while ensuring alignment with overall IT strategy and roadmap.

Education
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or in lieu of a degree, at least 13 years of experience in IT

Proven track record in designing and architecting complex systems at the functional or enterprise level
Expertise in technology integration and the design of interfaces between systems
Expertise in Software Development Lifecycle Methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
Proven track record in working with enterprise application integration and service-oriented architecture
Extensive knowledge of existing and emerging enterprise architecture principles, policies, standards, and frameworks

Extensive experience designing and leading hybrid and multi‑cloud architectures across Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, including landing zones, network connectivity, identity integration, and shared services models
Demonstrated expertise architecting cloud‑native and Kubernetes platforms, including AKS, Rancher, and OKE, with supporting capabilities such as container lifecycle management, GitOps/CI‑CD automation, backup, and observability
Strong background in cloud service enablement and automation, leveraging Infrastructure as Code and configuration tools (Terraform, Ansible, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) to standardize provisioning, accelerate delivery, and enforce architectural standards
Proven leadership in cloud cost management and FinOps practices, incorporating tools such as Azure Cost Management and Apptio Cloudability to drive financial accountability, optimization, and business-aligned consumption
Hands-on experience defining cloud resilience, backup, and disaster recovery strategies, including workload replication, database protection, and recovery automation to meet availability, performance, and risk objectives
Ability to serve as a cloud domain authority, shaping cloud strategy, reference architectures, standards, and roadmaps while mentoring engineers and influencing enterprise adoption of secure, scalable cloud platforms aligned to business outcome
WHAT THE ROLE WILL DO:
Integrate and refine architecture designs that are aligned to the organization’s business goals (e.g., speed, reliability, scalability)
Leverage expertise in domain-driven design principals to improve upon conceptual and logical models and advocate for their organization-wide adoption in adherence to architectural principles, policies, standards, and frameworks
Create detailed execution plans to implement recommendations for solution designs and ensure consistency and compliance with architecture principles, policies, standards, and frameworks
Influence business strategies and execution models by providing insights on how updated end to end delivery capabilities can drive business goals
Foster collaboration among various stakeholders across the business, ensuring seamless communication and alignment of architectural principles, policies, standards, and frameworks in a unified manner
Provide technical expertise and training opportunities to empower technical teams in support of the implementation of solution design
Drive strategic communication regarding technical considerations and impacts to stakeholders helping them understand implications in detail
Maintain and leverage strong business networks to ensure ongoing alignment between business operations and IT strategy
Contribute to and influence the development of the overall IT strategy and roadmap, proposing innovative solutions that drive business goals
Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to help the organization maintain a competitive advantage, driving innovation within the organization
This role is not remote/ hybrid and will report to Sherwin-Williams Global Headquarters located at 1 Sherwin Way, Cleveland, OH 44113.
