The Technical Development Specialist will work in collaboration with others, including but not limited to Technical Development Program Managers, internal Learning & Development professionals, HR Business Partners, and Subject Matter Experts to ensure successful development, implementation, and execution of technical training and development programs.

BASIC QUALIFICATION:
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status).
• Must be at least 18 years of age
FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Communication, Human Resources or related field
Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (“STEM”) field
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
• Experience supporting instructional programs focused to adult learners.
• Systems oriented with functional knowledge of M365 applications, including SharePoint.
• Experience with instructional design, eLearning platforms, and/or Learning Management Systems administration.
Preferred:
• Familiarity with GSC R&D business unit functions and roles.
• Previous experience in SHW R&D technical role.
• Basic knowledge of paint/coating function and properties.
• Experience communicating with large audiences through various media.
• Advanced knowledge of M365 applications, inclusive of SharePoint.
• Previous experience with Oracle Learning Cloud (HR Cloud Learning Management System).
• Functional knowledge of video editing and content authoring applications.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 10%
1. Content Development and Maintenance
• Partner with Technical Development Program Managers, Subject Matter Experts, and internal customers to support assessment of training needs. Support development and implementation of new / updated technical programs and content.
• Manage collection, editing, and publishing of technical content.
• Lead periodic quality audits on content / programs to ensure customer needs are met. Partner with Subject Matter Experts and/or Program Managers for improvements.
• Provide translation support for content and materials inclusive of managing internal review process.
• Apply instructional design techniques to:
• create engaging virtual learning content
• select / prepare facilitator guides, participant guides, and other materials appropriate for delivery modality (on demand, live virtual, live classroom, or hybrid)
• propose and implement engaging techniques including, but not limited to simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, role plays, and gamification.
2. Instructor Led Technical Training Coordination
• Coordinate TDRC-managed instructor-lead training events including scheduling, registration, enrollment, attendance, catering, providing A/V support, room setup, production and distribution of materials, and other ad-hoc duties associated with events.
• Manage coordination of travel for non-site attendees including hotel recommendations, restaurant recommendations, and directions to the site.
• As needed, support coordination of other instructor-led technical training events.
• Manage and document associated expenses. Utilize internal accounting processes and systems to ensure invoices are paid on time and costs are properly allocated.
• Serve as point-of-contact for instructor and attendee needs during events.
3. Communication
• Manage technical training calendar and TDRC SharePoint. Ensure up-to-date.
• Prepare and distribute regular communication of technical and professional course offerings, inclusive of changes.
• Lead status communications targeted to learners and supervisors.
• Monitor TDRC group email accounts for inquiries / issues. Resolve in a timely manner with support from Supervisor (as needed).
• Prepare and distribute TDRC metrics at regular cadence to Stakeholders.
4. Learning Management System Administration
• Manage administrative functions including technical content management and organization, enrollment rules and automation, learner profiles and hierarchy, data integrations, automated and single-instance communications, data analysis, tracking and reporting of training performance and engagement metrics. Lead periodic quality assurance checks.
• Collaborate with R&D stakeholders to verify and maintain required LMS Specializations / Learning Paths (including content needs, appropriate audiences, settings, and due dates).
• Serve as first point of contact with R&D customer base for LMS questions / issues. Interact with HR Cloud team for system changes / issues / updates as needed.
• Create scheduled and provide additional ad-hoc reporting as necessary including assisting supervisors in running reports and tracking development for their direct reports.
5. Department Support
• Support identification of meaningful impact metrics for instructional programs. Track, analyze, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with BMS standards and policies.
• Identify and lead continuous improvement projects for TDRC systems, tools, and processes.
• Lead development, administration, and analysis of formalized feedback collection processes for technical classes / programs. Prepare and deliver summative feedback to Supervisor and instructor inclusive of recommendations for continual improvements.
• Research and evaluate new training technology, systems, tools, and best practices. Lead implementation as needed.
• Provide support to GSC R&D HR tasks and projects as assigned.
