The Enterprise Systems Developer is responsible for supporting analysis, designing, developing, configuring, and implementation of enterprise-wide systems across various functional areas. The incumbent will work closely with technical peers to enable product teams to run applications on platforms that are managed, secure, supported, and governed. The Enterprise Systems Developer is responsible for assisting in the delivery of platform capabilities and maintaining the health, security, and upgradeability of the platforms.

As a key member of the Enterprise Service Management (ESM) Platform Team, the Enterprise Systems Developer will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and usability of our ServiceNow platform. This position involves performing complex development activities to support multiple capabilities and product teams across the organization. The incumbent will contribute to platform upgrades, integrations, and enhancements to maintain optimal platform performance and ensure a robust security posture.

Education

  • Required
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or in lieu of a degree, at least 3 years of experience in enterprise-wide systems programming
  • Preferred
    • Platform certifications (i.e., Oracle, ServiceNow, Azure)

Skills and Experience

  • 2-4 years of experience in enterprise-wide systems programming
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C+ Python
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle
  • Familiarity with writing code, debugging, testing, and deploying code in a variety of environments

      • 3+ years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow platform management, including administration, performance monitoring, and system upgrades.
      • 1+ years of experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban) contributing to sprint planning, implementing increments and collaborating within cross-functional teams.

  • Conduct preliminary analysis of current enterprise-wide systems and share insights with senior team members
  • Work closely with product teams to gather requirements and support the related technical solutions
  • Aid in the development and implementation of enterprise-wide system modifications and upgrades
  • Collaborate with senior team members to develop and implement integration and automation solutions
  • Assist with ongoing monitoring and use metrics to analyze system performance data and identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Follow established standards and best practices to develop and maintain programming and system documentation
  • Coordinate with other departments on small-scale system upgrades, leveraging established project management methodologies
  • Create technical documentation and provide post-implementation support for simple system issues, troubleshooting and resolving them
  • Determine how low code / no code solutions can be utilized to support the development of simple enterprise-wide systems
  • Document system configurations and identify reusable components that can be leveraged by Product Teams to build systems at speed and scale
