Job Summary:
The Standard Commercial Account Manager (CAM) is a licensed agent who is responsible for providing customer
service, policy maintenance, coverage placement, problem resolution and retention for an assigned group of
commercial lines accounts. This role requires a thorough understanding of insurance products and state and federal
laws that regulate insurance. This is a hybrid role. Work from any of our Northeast Ohio locations (listed on our website).
Responsibilities:
Client Relationship & Service Excellence
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, underwriters, and producers.
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction across your assigned book of business.
- Conduct periodic service calls and respond promptly to client inquiries regarding new business, renewals, endorsements, certificates, and general policy questions.
Account Management & Coverage Expertise
- Review accounts for coverage upgrades, account rounding opportunities, and risk-management improvements—documenting recommendations to reduce E&O exposure.
- Gather renewal information and risk-management recommendations beginning 90 days prior to renewal.
- Deliver renewals in alignment with departmental procedures.
- Evaluate renewal accounts for additional lines of insurance or increased limits needed to strengthen the client’s program.
Policy Processing & Documentation
- Process renewals in the agency management system, ensuring accurate billing, coding, and documentation.
- Issue certificates, endorsements, and policy changes with precision and compliance.
- Review and process audits according to established procedures.
- Prepare premium finance agreements and coordinate with financial institutions for timely processing.
- Handle agency-bill invoicing with accuracy and attention to detail.
Sales Support & Growth
- Provide technical support to Producers for new business opportunities.
- Assist with servicing renewal accounts and preparing submissions.
- Cross-sell additional coverages and proactively recommend increased limits or enhancements.
- Prepare new business submissions when needed to support the team.
Carrier & Compliance Coordination
- Maintain strong working relationships with carriers and specialty markets.
- Act as a liaison between clients and carriers regarding inspections, ensuring timely response to loss-control recommendations.
- Prepare and process lost policy releases (LPRs) and other required documentation.
- Report claims to carriers following departmental procedures.
Team Collaboration
- Notify the Branch Manager or Team Leaders when service standards may be impacted.
- Support team operations and contribute to a positive, solutions-oriented work environment.

- 5–15 years of Commercial Lines Property & Casualty (P&C) experience, with a strong track record of managing complex accounts.
- High school diploma or GED required; additional education is a plus.
- Active Ohio Property & Casualty license (must be current and in good standing).
- Proven ability to manage a book of business generating $550,001–$749,999 in agency revenue.
- Technical proficiency with AMS360, ImageRight, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and general internet navigation.
- Adaptability and consistency, with the ability to follow agency guidelines, workflows, and procedures.
- Professional presence and the ability to represent the agency with confidence and credibility.
- Experience handling high-activity, complex commercial accounts with accuracy and composure.
- Strong analytical and sound decision-making skills, especially in evaluating coverage needs and risk profiles.
- Clear, effective communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to deliver presentations.
