Russell Equipment Company is a global leader in the remarketing of used forklifts and used construction equipment. We serve customers around the world and are one of the largest and most respected used forklift and material handling equipment resellers in the industry.

We are currently seeking an Inbound Freight Coordinator to join our Receiving Department. This position will be responsible for coordinating incoming freight for a wide range of equipment, from pallet jacks to large construction equipment.

The ideal candidate will be organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, drivers, warehouse staff, purchasing, and internal team members. They will possess the knowledge, or the initiative to develop it, to evaluate hauling options, identify cost-saving opportunities, and select the most economical method for transporting equipment. This position is primarily office-based within the Receiving Department but may require occasional warehouse support and backup assistance to the Freight Department.

Position Summary

The Inbound Freight Coordinator is responsible for managing and tracking incoming equipment shipments while ensuring timely communication and coordination between suppliers, freight carriers, Purchasing, Receiving, Inspection, and Warehouse teams.

This role plays an important part in keeping equipment moving efficiently through the receiving process and helping Russell Equipment maintain a timely turnaround for suppliers and internal departments.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate inbound freight for purchased equipment and incoming transfers
  • Schedule and track incoming deliveries with carriers, suppliers, and drivers
  • Communicate shipment updates to Purchasing, Receiving, Warehouse, and Inspection teams
  • Maintain accurate records for incoming freight, delivery dates, and related documentation
  • Assist with resolving delivery delays, freight issues, scheduling conflicts, and missing information
  • Provide professional phone and email communication with vendors, carriers, and internal departments
  • Work closely with warehouse staff to ensure equipment is received in a timely and organized manner
  • Provide backup support to the Freight Department when needed

Qualifications

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Outlook preferred
  • Customer service, vendor communication, or logistics experience preferred
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to problem-solve and adjust to shifting priorities
  • Must be able to work in both an office and warehouse environment

Preferred Experience

  • 1 year of logistics, freight, shipping, or receiving experience
  • Experience working with freight carriers or transportation companies
  • Knowledge of material handling equipment, forklifts, or construction equipment
  • Understanding of domestic shipping, LTL, full truckload, heavy haul, or small parcel freight
  • Shipping and receiving experience
