JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the 'Sr. Manager, Surveillance & Security' the Security Officer (Full-Time) is responsible for all event and non-event related security at Rocket Arena. Responsibilities include interacting with Rocket Arena staff, guests, outside vendors, contractors, and visitors; monitoring all security equipment; handling incoming telephone calls and information requests, and controlling access to and from Rocket Arena while maintaining the highest professional standards.

Available Shift: 2nd shift (3pm-11pm)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs daily rounds (facility security control) as assigned.
  • Conducts equipment safety inspections (AEDs, fire alarm controls, emergency equipment, etc.)
  • Admits building staff, suppliers, contractors, visitors, and guests to the facility according to established procedures.
  • Answers telephone calls and handles information requests from staff and guests during non-operator hours and as needed.
  • Protects Rocket Arena equipment, materials, and structures throughout the work schedule.
  • Provides regular security functions within the Rocket Arena and related areas before, during, and after all events.
  • Coordinates all building deliveries from outside vendors, delivery companies, and Rocket Arena staff.
  • Receives, records, and returns all lost and found items according to established departmental procedures.
  • Performs watch tours and building safety checks, reporting any violations.
  • Distributes paychecks, ID badges, mail, etc.
  • Monitors camera system (CCTV), responds to alarms, and dispatches officers when needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Security Director, Manager, and Sergeants.

Physical Endurance & Emergency Response Qualifications (Required):

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of 5-7 hours without concerns.
  • Capability to maintain alertness and vigilance throughout long shifts.
  • Proficiency in navigating multiple levels of stairs repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Physical fitness to respond swiftly to emergencies, including running or climbing stairs quickly when needed.
  • Ability to navigate one full round of the main concourse in 3 minutes or less.
  • Sufficient upper body and core strength to assist and move injured guests when necessary.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects or individuals during emergency situations.
  • Ability to carry 25lbs up and down a flight of stairs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent certificate.
  • Must have availability to work 3:00-11:00pm on weekdays and weekends as scheduled. Hours may vary on occasion.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Previous security experience preferred but not required.
  • OPOTA certificate preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to work any days of the week and weekends on shifts as needed.
  • Must posses a high-level of professionalism.
  • Must be punctual, dependable and respectful at all times while on duty.
