Position Summary:

The Quality Tech will work with members of the quality team including the Director of Quality to ensure raw materials and finished products meet all designated quality specifications. The tech is responsible for conducting routine quality inspections throughout production, including in-process and final inspections.

JOB FUNCTIONS: (Job functions include but are not limited to the following)
  • Receive materials into inventory: visual inspection against prepared records, maintain FIFO, revision controls, update electronic inventory records.
  • Process inventory management transactions in ERP software.
  • Process paperwork for production: including material issue and lot control.
  • Tracking and verifying the master control.
  • Review production records for completeness, reasonableness and verification of calculations.
  • Review materials for accuracy against production records and inventory systems.
  • Assist in production quality inspections and provide input as needed.
  • Investigate discrepancies – perform recounts, research computer records.
  • Anticipate problems and address them accordingly.
  • Responsible for material reconciliation.
  • Suggest process improvements based on observations and investigations.
  • Escalate issues to Quality Supervisor as needed.
  • Wear the required PPE.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Complete all required paperwork timely, legibly and accurately.
  • Follow cGMP standards and SOP’s
  • Work in a cooperative manner with management/supervision, co-workers and vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned or directed.

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years’ experience. `
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
  • Basic computer skills and software
  • Familiar with CGMP compliance standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Frequently sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 10-hours.
  • Occasional bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, and twisting required.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various office equipment.

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

General schedule: This position is performed in a production facility setting, up to five days a week with typical work hours being 6:00 a. m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday - Thursday however, employee must be willing to work a flexible schedule including days that may OT include early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
