Job Description

Position Summary:

The Sourcing Manager provides strategic leadership for indirect sourcing and procurement activities in alignment with the Parker WIN Strategy. This role drives performance within a continuous improvement environment, with a focus on customer experience, risk mitigation, and cash generation. The position is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, improving procurement processes, and supporting lean enterprise initiatives across the supply chain. The Sourcing Manager reports to the Corporate Supply Chain Manager and supports Divisional Sourcing Specialists and Buyers as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Promote and foster a safe work environment.
  • Support multiple engagement teams across the enterprise. Support local buyer for non-performing indirect suppliers or for escalations.
  • Support vendor onboarding and process of Ariba across the enterprise.
  • Support/Manage deployment of Ariba during all stages.
  • Maintain Ariba workflow documents.
  • Drive strategic sourcing initiatives to reduce risk, lower costs, and ensure best-value continuity of supply by maintaining deep knowledge of category markets, supplier capabilities, market conditions, and industry trends; leverage sourcing methodologies to evaluate, select, negotiate with, and manage suppliers as a portfolio expert.
  • Lead team activities to achieve business objectives related to spend aggregation, supplier consolidation, rationalization, and segmentation, while supporting the development and execution of strategic departmental initiatives.
  • Drive KPI results in support of Supply Chain Strategy goals by leading RFQ/RFP processes, negotiating commercial terms, and awarding business to suppliers that deliver optimal value, quality, service, and risk mitigation.
  • Leverage and manage supplier relationships and performance.
  • Ensure team compliance with Parker policies and procedures, and government requirements.
  • Ensures alignment and communication with other functional leaders.
  • Employs data analysis and information technology to improve business performance.
  • Collaboration and liaise with all groups across the enterprise. Ensure internal stakeholder’s satisfaction.
  • Works with suppliers to develop and manage continuous improvement programs, addressing quality, delivery, service as well as price.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (4 Year) in Supply Chain or Operations Management. Business, Engineering or Other.

Experience(s):

  • Professional Certification - ASCM (APICS) or ISM preferred.
  • Advanced degree such as MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years applicable experience in procurement, finance, materials management or operations, with experience leading a team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ariba experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives.
  • Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals.
  • Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.
  • Analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities.
  • Must have functional understanding of cost accounting and adapt to practical application.
  • Must have advanced computer skills and be able to understand electronic processing. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Programs.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
  • Understanding of lean enterprise principles and practices.
