Position Summary

The Sr. Electrical Engineer is responsible for developing technically sound and marketable products using imaginative, thorough, and practicable solutions.

Essential Functions

  • Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field

  • Demonstrates domain knowledge with high level understanding of design processes and procedures with ability to train others

  • Adds value by identifying and completing necessary tasks while interacting directly with customer or supplier

  • May lead or mentor junior and/or supporting staff

  • Applies knowledge and experience to develop/enhance designs, processes, and tools

  • Proactively engages with customers and suppliers while building strong working relationships

  • Focuses on completing assigned projects to meet technical objectives in budget and on schedule

  • Creates strong network with other senior professionals internally and externally

  • Works under general direction and within established processes/procedures

  • Has latitude in technical decisions and approaches; seeks out specialist guidance for complex issues

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or other related field (Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Aerospace Engineering)
    8+ years of engineering experience; aerospace background a plus

  • Working knowledge of hardware development in accordance with RTCA/DO-254

  • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to motivate others

  • Focus on continuous improvement

  • Excellent communication skills to convey knowledge of subject matter, particularly in customer/supplier interaction

  • Ability to prepare and present clear, technically accurate and documented design explanation

  • Knowledge of Altium, Jira, DOORS, Matlab, Simulink a plus

  • Understanding of commercially sensitive information, including how, when, and with whom to share it

  • Proficient at working across functions within the organization

  • Experience working in a multi-cultural/diverse organization

  • Willing to challenge the status quo
