Description
The Account Executive's responsibilities include driving growth and retention within a defined geographic territory, focusing on K–12 institutions in the middle range enrollment sizes. This role combines existing customer revenue growth and new business development. Core Account Executives manage a portfolio of existing school and district partners, expand content and service adoption, and build relationships with prospective customers to drive sustained revenue growth.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a proficient understanding of OverDrive’s products and services, sales processes, and K–12 customer needs.
- Conduct account reviews to understand partner goals and identify opportunities to expand OverDrive services – e.g., into classroom curriculum, special education services, etc.
- Leverage knowledge and understanding of existing partner needs and goals to drive content spend and meet territory content spend quotas.
- Identify and qualify new prospects within the assigned territory. Create and execute prospect engagement plans to build relationships and nurture leads into paying customers.
- Maintain accurate CRM records for all customer interactions and opportunities.
- Achieve individual activity goals (calls, demos, follow-ups) to build a strong pipeline.
- Demonstrate professionalism and responsiveness in all communications with educators and administrators.
- Effectively collaborate with Product Support Specialists, Digital Content Librarians, and Account Managers to ensure partner product access and engagement and satisfaction with their digital collection.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or equivalent experience.
- 1 - 3+ years’ of consultative sales experience, or K-12 education experience.
- Confident, proactive, and energetic; professional and team-oriented sales approach.
- Superior customer service skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage cross group relationships within OverDrive (i.e., territory teams, marketing, training, etc.).
- Team player.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Must acquire and maintain knowledge of OverDrive's products and strategies, competitors and software/mobile devices.
- Outstanding Microsoft Office skills.
