Position Summary
Join our product development team in our out of home division at Nestle Professional Solutions! We are looking for someone with a growth mindset that is willing to leverage their expertise while autonomously learning new products, systems, and solutions. You will drive leadership on moderately complex projects to identify solutions, deliver the innovation and renovation portfolio, and optimization/improvement projects. You will partner with cross functional teams to leverage and translate customer needs into project pipelines. You will represent product development as a subject matter expert for our product portfolio and partner with our commercialization team to transfer knowledge to the factories. You will collaborate internally and externally to build relationships in order to continuously improve your technical skills and personal development.
1. Implementation of Innovation & Renovation strategy for the supported product categories in the market. Liaise & leverage both the industry and global Nestle Network insights to develop, implement, and execute product development activities (e.g. bench top, pilot plant, shelf life testing, and internal/external factory testing) to achieve project goals and deadlines to delight the consumer & customer.
2. Introduction of new products with both current and novel processes within factories and external manufacturers. Collaborate and influence internal and external project teams to develop, industrialize, and launch on a complex range of Innovation and Renovation projects.
3. Continuously improve/optimize current product and processes within factories and external manufacturers according to local business needs and supply situation and/or implementation of initiatives. Lead technical projects including technical assistance, sourcing, quality improvements, compliance, and cost savings.
4. Work directly with customers, on an as requested basis, to understand back of house operations, customer requests and needs, and solve technical challenges with NPS products.
5. Develop and coach junior product developers, as needed, to onboard and grow competencies within and across the product development team.
Qualifications –
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
- A BS or MS degree in Food Science, Bakery Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering.
- Position requires approximately 25- 35% travel.
EXPERIENCE:
- Prefer minimum 3 years of product or process development experience in the food industry
- Seeking experience in bakery, confectionery, baking science, cereal science / chemistry, and food science
- Prefer experience in development of bakery, cookies, and/or chocolate and confectionary items
- Hands-on baking skills are preferred

• Strong understanding of the customer and ability to focus work with both the operator and consumer in mind
• Computer Skills: Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Power Point, Word
• Preferred: SAP, Recipe Management Systems, Microsoft Office applications
