| 1. Work from MLS work orders and record labor and inventory transactions in MLS. 2. Work from production schedule to stage housing side and utility press dies. 3. Setup all blade dies and utility press dies. 4. Change over dies in tool room; take dies apart and change out details to run a variety of different parts. 5. Make decisions as to fits, finishes, machining and assembly sequences, maintaining close tolerances. 6. Interact with shop floor computer terminals to record time and production activities. 7. Trouble shoot operating problems with tools and dies, determine appropriate action and make repairs. 8. Disassemble worn or damaged die, determine extent of wear or damage, repair, replace, adjust, prepare and tryout die. 9. Operate a wide range of machine and bench operations relating to servicing and repairing tools and dies. 10. Alter and repair a variety of tools, templates and dies including blanking, piercing, bending, forming, drawing and other stamping dies; welding, drilling and assembly templates, jigs and fixtures. 11. Perform difficult bench work involving filing, grinding, lapping, fitting and polishing. 12. Use calipers, micrometers, verniers, comparator, and other precision measuring instruments to maintain close tolerances. 1. Visualize finished job and make necessary mathematical calculations and select allowances for lapping, grinding, finishing, and fitting. 14. Report blueprint errors such as improper dimensions to supervision. 15. Suggest changes to dies or parts that will improve performance or eliminate waste. 16. Assist with die setting at presses. 17. Operate forklift and overhead crane as required. 18. Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions to supervision. 19. Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition. | ||
