DLZ Corporation is looking for entry level individuals willing to work hard and learn new skills associated with materials testing. DLZ will provide the necessary training for you to be successful in your role as a Field Technician. Our laboratory is located in Cleveland, Ohio, and we provide materials testing services throughout Northeast Ohio. This position offers valuable hands-on experience working with construction materials and testing equipment in both field and lab environments.

DLZ Corporation is looking for entry level individuals willing to work hard and learn new skills associated with materials testing. DLZ will provide the necessary training for you to be successful in your role as a Field Technician. Our laboratory is located in Cleveland, Ohio, and we provide materials testing services throughout Northeast Ohio. This position offers valuable hands-on experience working with construction materials and testing equipment in both field and lab environments.
Responsibilities
- Perform material testing of soils, aggregates, asphalt concrete and concrete at the time of placement on an active construction site.
- Interpret specifications and working drawings.
- Field inspection, testing, sampling, equipment, and equipment maintenance on assigned project.
- Obtain and record field data, in a legible and organized fashion; as required by the plans, specifications, or project staff. Generate and compile field reports.
- Record daily installed construction quantities.
- Speak with team members on a construction site, including the contractor and owner’s representatives.
- Communicate with all entities keeping everyone fully informed.
- Maintain equipment as required.
- Understand and follow the public health and safety requirements and the proper safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Ability to verbally communicate and relay accurate information
- Computer skills required
- Must have attention to detail
- Ability to frequently lift up to50lbs
- Ability to travel throughout Ohio
- The Following Certifications are Preferred:
- ACI Concrete Field Testing
- Nuclear Densometer Safety
- OSHA 10-hour Safety
