Job Title: Pre-K Lead TeacherJob Type: Full Time Merrick House, with a five star rated early childhood program, is seeking a lead pre-kindergarten teacher to guide the day-to-day classroom activities and operations and enhance the children’s development to best prepare them for future educational experiences. Responsibilities:Ensure that the classroom is set up with defined learning areas and provides a safe, healthy environment arranged to support independence for early learners. The Lead Teacher will write lesson plans, assess children’s proper development, and conduct assessments and screenings. The Lead Teacher is the primary contact with parents on a daily basis, with two parent-teacher conferences and weekly observation notes. Necessary qualifications:- Combination of education and experience represented by a Child Development Associate with Pre-K endorsement. Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education strongly preferred.- 1–3 years’ experience working in a preschool classroom preferred.
