LUNA - Downtown Cleveland

We are looking to hire at our Downtown Cleveland Cafe location.

  • Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 7am - 3pm.
  • Shifts can start as early as 5am
  • Experience required
  • BOH staff members will flex between working the line and helping with prep

JOB SUMMARY

Luna Bakery & Cafe shares the experience of real food, scratch pastry and local coffee in a cozy space where delighting our guests is our top priority. In 2011 we opened our first location in Cleveland Heights and opened our 2nd location in Moreland Hills in 2018. In the summer of 2021 we opened our production facility in Midtown, Cleveland. At this facility we produce the majority of the sweet pastries sold at the cafes each day, as well as our custom cake shop and sugar cookie department. Luna Bakery Cafe has also recently expanded to downtown with the opening of a cafe location on W. 9th.

Luna is a fast paced cafe where we craft daily breakfast and lunch, scratch pastry and local coffee drinks.

We close at 3pm daily, so perfect for someone looking to get out of the late night restaurant grind. There is lots of growth potential and we love to promote from within.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare menu items according to recipes
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Knowledgeable about all menu items, including allergy information
  • Be able to review and execute catering orders & special orders
  • Comfortable standing, lifting and bending for duration of a 6-8 hour shift
  • Maintain stock & storage and labeling of all food items
  • Follows opening, closing and other procedural checklists correctly
  • Responsible for quality assurance of food
  • Maintain all health, safety, and sanitation standards in the cafe and kitchen
  • Directly report to the Kitchen Manager, Store Manager & Director of Cafe Operations
  • Recognizes, acknowledges & communicates errors or potential quality problems with supervisors
  • Notify manager of any maintenance or equipment issues
  • Arrives on time ready to work (in dress code) for all shifts and meetings
  • Committed to maintaining the high quality standards of our cafe
  • Be passionate about real food, scratch pastry and coffee
  • Problem solver & strong communication skills
  • A dynamic person - friendly with high energy level
  • Handle guest complaints according to provided guidelines
  • Be coachable– actively looking for feedback to grow and improve
  • Assist in training new staff and seasonal staff, as requested
  • Available to work at least one weekend day, with 4 other weekday shifts.

Job Type: Full time
