The Academic Technology Associate is responsible for providing customer service and assistance to LCCC students and faculty to assist in technical support needs in Canvas, WebEx and other Canvas integrated software. Typical activities and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Provides customer service and assistance to LCCC students. Serve as first point of contact for students seeking technical help with computer related issues, such as Office applications, Canvas, MyCampus, printing and wireless login issues. Work closely with students and faculty to assist in technical support needs in Canvas, Webex, and Zoom. Support accessibility remediation of online course materials Test accessibility of technology using assistive technology.


Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher. Technical support experience may substitute for degree.
  • Knowledge of Canvas, Word, Excel
  • Strong communication skills and basic customer service experience.
  • Performing basic computer troubleshooting including course specific software and printer maintenance.
  • Maintaining a clean, quiet work area for students; being visible and available to students, faculty and staff requiring technical assistance.
  • Researching solutions to questions even when unfamiliar; interpreting and applying available help resources. Staying up-to-date with campus technology changes and issues; staying current with new software and hardware applications used in the campus computer labs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Canvas LMS
  • Experience with accessibility standards
  • Experience using chat for technical support; virtual meeting experience (Webex or Zoom) and working in Microsoft Teams.
