Litehouse Pools & Spas began through the sale of residential and commercial chlorine chemicals, including high quality concentrated chemicals distributed to residential swimming pool owners and commercial operators. By 1965, the company had rapidly expanded into many other areas of the swimming pool industry, including swimming pool maintenance and construction. This expansion led the first opening of a full-service retail store in Berea, Ohio in 1967.
