Essential Duties Summary:

  • Perform accurate and efficient vehicle repairs per dealership and factory standards
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues across all vehicle systems
  • Communicate effectively with parts and service teams
  • Conduct road tests and safety inspections
  • Document all work performed and recommended services
  • Maintain the cleanliness and care of customer vehicles
  • Follow safety protocols and regulatory compliance
  • Operate tools and equipment safely and responsibly
  • Participate in ongoing training and stay updated on technical bulletins
  • Keep the work area organized and maintain dealership tools
  • Support team operations and follow management instructions

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Possess tools required for repairs and services, used in accordance with industry standards
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in basic math, including fractions, percentages, and geometry
  • Ability to solve practical problems and follow written, oral, or diagram instructions
  • Computer literacy for reference, training, and testing
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Education and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Valid driver’s license meeting dealership insurability requirements
  • ASE certifications preferred in one or more of the following areas:
    • Electrical/Electronic Systems
    • Manual Drive Train and Axles
    • Brakes
    • Automatic Transmission and Transaxle
    • Heating and Air Conditioning
    • Engine Performance
    • Suspension and Steering
    • Engine Repair

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive repair or service

Technician Classification:
Technicians are classified based on completed training documented through STARS and represented by manufacturer warranty codes they are authorized to perform.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk/stand for 6–8 hours per shift
  • Use of hand and power tools consistent with industry standards
  • Frequent bending, stretching, lifting, reaching, and climbing
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
  • Physical and manual dexterity required
