Position Description: CNC Machine Operator - Haas ST-30/ST-25 & VF-4

At LayerZero Power Systems, Inc. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machine Operator to operate and maintain Haas ST-30/ST-25 lathes and VF-4 vertical mills. The ideal candidate will be proficient in G-code programming and capable of setting up, running, and inspecting precision-machined components in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

Primary Duties:

· Set up and operate Haas CNC lathes and mills to produce high-quality parts according to engineering specifications.

· Write, edit, and troubleshoot G-code programs for turning, milling, drilling, and contouring operations.

· Perform machine setups including tooling, work holding, offsets, and program loading.

· Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments.

· Monitor machine performance and adjust optimize cycle times and part quality.

· Maintain accurate documentation of setups, tool usage, and inspection results.

· Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure optimal performance.

· Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve issues and improve processes.

· Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, including zero-tolerance drug testing requirements.

Experience & Skills:

· 2+ years of experience operating Haas CNC machines (ST-30/ST-25 lathes and/or VF-4 mill).

· Strong understanding of G-code programming and CNC controls.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.

· Pro Experience with multi-axis machining and complex part geometries.

· Familiarity with ISO or AS9100 quality standards.

· Basic knowledge of CAM software (e.g. Mastercam, Fusion 360) is a plus.

· Proficiency with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Education:

· High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in CNC machining preferred.
