Job Summary

The Operations Pricing Lead Operations Analyst is responsible for overall support of pricing activities for investments held by Key Private Bank clients on our accounting system, Global Plus. Timely and accurate pricing ensures securities are valued correctly on customer statements, valued correctly for client fees and for investment review purposes.

This position is responsible for maintaining and developing Excel pricing tools in the department’s Pricing Dashboard which supports the daily pricing of alternative investments. Other duties include performing daily monitoring and control over departmental pricing functions, reviewing alternative investment valuation statements and updating pricing based on this analysis, and managing the stale priced asset control process. In addition, this position is responsible for leading projects to streamline and improve department processes.

This position provides support to Department Manager, Section Manager, and Associates to ensure accurate and timely pricing of securities on Global Plus. The individual will assist and support Investment/Trust professionals in a Trust and Investment Management environment. Strong attention to detail, analytical, and problem resolution skills, as well as advanced Excel knowledge, are critical to succeeding in this position.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for maintaining and developing Excel pricing tools which support daily pricing of alternative investments.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely pricing of securities on Global Plus accounting system.
  • Performs daily monitoring control over departmental pricing functions and performs quality control reviews on team members’ work.
  • Provides training for new employees and daily guidance to other analysts as assigned by Section Manager.
  • Identifies and independently resolves issues of a complex or sensitive nature identified through review of daily processing and/or Line of Business inquiries (including identification of root cause). Resolves inquiries pertaining to pricing of securities.
  • Reviews alternative investment valuation statements and updates pricing based on analysis.
  • Works to identify pricing alternatives for securities that are not priced through automation.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with multiple stakeholders, including external investment managers, line of business partners, and operations personnel.
  • Inputs data into accounting system in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Identifies, initiates, and develops process improvement opportunities. Works with department leadership team to implement improvements.
  • Leads departmental projects.
  • Assists with open desk coverage.
  • Updates and maintain policies and procedures.
  • Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key’s clients and the bank.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or business-related area or equivalent work experience

Work Experience

  • 1+ years of work experience in the financial services industry; investment operations experience preferred
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word) required
  • Advanced Excel skills. Ability to research and resolve Excel-related issues, involving advanced formulas, Power Query, and VBA script.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $56,000.00 - $85,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
