Your Opportunity as Associate Manager, Quality Assurance - Warehousing

In this role you will be the Corporate Quality lead for Internal DCs and our network of External Warehouses. You will evaluate facilities, programs and practices to ensure regulatory and company standards are being met or exceeded.

Location: Orrville, OH or Remote

Work Arrangements: Hybrid (onsite minimum of 9 days per month) or Remote

In this role you will:

  • Provide support and leadership as the primary Corporate QA resource for internal DC’s:
    • Ensure the facilities comply with JMS Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures and all Federal, State and local regulatory requirements including FSMA, GFSI and any additional certifications
  • Oversee Quality for our network of External Ambient, Frozen, and Refrigerated Warehousing Partners:
    • Evaluate new and existing sites against JMS Quality Requirements, determine acceptability based on site performance
    • Identify and communicate gaps; hold sites accountable to close gaps
    • Develop and utilize scorecarding to effectively monitor and communicate ongoing site performance
    • Report on performance during regular Quality Business Reviews (QBR)
    • Ensure sites provide required Quality documentation in TraceGains
    • Manage Customer Complaints and Quality Incidents through Corrective Action Requests (CAR)
    • Support Product Destructions in accordance with Corporate Policies
  • Lead Warehousing QA Audits:
    • Coordinate timing, finalize and issue audit report, ensure sites provide appropriate CAPA for any Major or Minor findings
  • Develop and maintain Internal and External Warehousing QA Manuals
  • Disposition product returned from Customers and involved in Transportation Incidents; Partner with Transportation and Sales to develop risk assessment to minimize risk to company
  • Ensure all DCs and Warehouses are compliant with ETQ Hold and Trace expectations, including timing, templates, and tasks
    • Lead SBS Hold Process for External Warehouses during transition into ETQ
  • Support Crisis Team as Warehousing Lead
  • Collaborate with internal QA on dispositioning non-conforming temperatures for frozen and refrigerated products
  • Build relationships with quality, operations, and management teams at each location via scheduled visits, audits and quality reviews

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of experience in warehousing and/or manufacturing food environment
  • Strong interpersonal capabilities – the ability to enact change through engagement and influence, problem solving, and expertise in managing complex business situations

and achieving objectives

  • Strong understanding of Hold and Trace requirements, ability to reconcile
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional & team-oriented environment
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a proven track record of successful prioritization
  • Proficient in systems
  • Detail & process oriented with strong problem resolution abilities
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, etc.)
  • Position may require up to 40% travel annually

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

  • 2+ years of experience in QA/Food Safety
  • Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (human and/or animal food) and/or HACCP experience
  • Experience with external partner relationships is preferred (Supplier, Warehouse, or Co-Manufacturing)
  • Knowledge of Warehousing GFSI Audit Schemes, preferably BRCGS
  • Experience leading people
  • Experience with TraceGains and ETQ
