Summary:
The Principal Architect-Senior provides the technical vision and direction for the integration of all information systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees the definition of architecture requirements for all information systems, covering both functional and non-functional (i.e., performance, reliability, security) aspects.
- Defines and documents the key architectural concepts, abstractions and the target system architecture, spanning application, information/data and technical infrastructure.
- Selects strategic tools and platforms for development, testing and deployment.
- Ensures the communication of principle technical drivers such as trends, best practice, setting and applying standards.
- Defines technical objectives, goals, constraints, key features and overall architecture approach.
- Mentors technical staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of related experience Or 10 plus years of related experience.
- Ensure network designs comply with security standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory requirements.
- Architect connectivity between multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premises data centers.
- Evaluate network hardware/software vendors and manage licensing and cost optimization.
- Expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, and WAN optimization. Strong knowledge of IPv6, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and network virtualization
Preferred Qualifications:
- IT experience designing architectures and delivering information systems including data/information architecture, technical infrastructure, architecture and application architecture
- Develop and maintain enterprise-wide network architecture aligned with business goals and technology strategies.
- Design scalable, secure, and high-performance network solutions for hybrid environments (on-premises, cloud, and edge).
- Partner with Enterprise Network Services organization to create long-term network technology roadmaps.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend integration strategies.
- Familiarity with cloud networking, SDN, and micro-segmentation.
- Certifications like CCIE, AWS Advanced Networking, or Azure Network Engineer Associate are often preferred.
- Experience with TOGAF (certification proffered) enterprise architecture framework and governance practices.

Compensation Range:
93,000.00 - 189,000.00 USD AnnualThe compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan. In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
