About the Technical Account Executive role

This is a hunter position. Pipeline is self-generated through direct outreach. Project tracking and timing matters. Organization, initiative, and thorough follow-up are important. You will engage directly with facility administrators, sheriffs, IT directors, operations and facilities leadership, architects and project owners.

We are a small team selling a specialized product in a relationship-driven market. The right candidate is competitive, self-directed, and understands that, with our customer base, credibility is earned. You prepare before every call, follow up without being asked, and can articulate why a deal was lost as clearly as why it was won. This role offers direct access to leadership, a short decision-making chain, and the opportunity to have meaningful impact on company growth.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect, qualify, and close new accounts through outbound outreach, trade shows, referrals, and industry networking
  • Engage stakeholders at all project levels throughout the buying process
  • Navigate capital project and operational budget procurement cycles
  • Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations tailored to the prospect's environment and pain points
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through contract execution and handoff to implementation
  • Respond to RFPs and coordinate with internal teams on proposals, pricing, and technical requirements
  • Maintain detailed and thorough documentation in our CRM system
  • Work from our office in Solon, with 30% to 50% travel

We'd like to speak with you if you have:

  • At least three years of B2B technology sales experience with a demonstrated track record of quota attainment
  • Experience selling into government, public safety, corrections, or institutional facilities markets
  • Solid working knowledge of networked hardware systems, building infrastructure, or low-voltage installed systems
  • Skill at speaking with different types of customers, technical and operational
  • Familiarity with construction project cycles and project structure
  • Proven outbound prospecting ability, building the pipeline from scratch with minimal inbound support
  • Strong demo and presentation skills; able to adapt the content for your audience
  • Disciplined and organized pipeline management — you know your numbers and track your own activity
