About the Opportunity
On behalf of our client, a well-established law firm in Ohio, we are seeking an experienced Paralegal with a strong background in estate and probate administration, as well as litigation support involving real estate matters, shareholder disputes, and business contracts.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and clients, and a proactive approach to case management.
Key Responsibilities
Estate & Probate Administration
- Prepare and file probate forms, inventories, accountings, and related estate documents
- Assist attorneys with estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney
- Communicate with courts, fiduciaries, beneficiaries, and financial institutions
- Maintain detailed case files and timelines for estate and trust matters
Litigation Support (Real Estate, Shareholder & Business Disputes)
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and correspondence
- Manage document production, review, and organization
- Conduct legal research as requested by attorneys
- Assist with trial preparation, exhibits, deposition summaries, and court filings
- Coordinate with clients, experts, title companies, and opposing counsel
Administrative & Case Management Duties
- Maintain and manage attorney calendars, including deadlines, hearings, and meetings
- Schedule appointments, client calls, depositions, mediations, and court appearances
- Handle docketing requirements and ensure all deadlines are tracked and met
- Organize and maintain electronic and hard-copy files
- Assist with general administrative support as needed for smooth case progression
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in estate/probate and civil litigation
- Knowledge of Ohio probate procedures required
- Experience with real estate disputes, business contract litigation, or shareholder matters preferred
- Strong understanding of litigation processes, court rules, and e-filing procedures
- Excellent writing, drafting, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously
- Proficiency in legal software (Clio, NetDocuments, or similar), MS Office Suite, and document management systems
Paralegal certificate or relevant degree strongly preferred
