About The Opportunity
This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.
The position reports to the Supervisor, Transmission Reliability in the AMRC Asset Management Support team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reporting transmission reliability data to NERC, NATF and state bodies. Additionally, developing, maintaining, and reporting the FE Transmission reliability data including the Key Performance Indicator, Transmission Outage Frequency (TOF).

The estimated pay range for this role is $71,400- $124,200. The pay range for certain locations, including the state of New Jersey, include a 20% differential to account for an increased cost of living, making the pay range $85,680 - $149,040

Responsibilities Include
- Extracting, assembling, analyzing, and reporting on transmission reliability and performance data to FE executives and external groups such as NERC, NATF, State Regulatory Agencies and EPRI.
- Develop tools and processes that provide visibility to key stakeholders and support improvement in FE transmission reliability.
- Supporting NERC, NATF and other industry working groups associated with transmission reliability data recording, analysis, and reporting.
- Working across Power Delivery and Operational Excellence to ensure effective and consistent reporting and analysis.
- Maintaining and updating transmission reliability data reporting applications such as QlikView, Power BI, and iTOA
- Conducting business specific research and ad hoc data analysis – obtaining data, interpreting results, and communicating findings to provide insights that reduce reliability risk, optimize investments, and improve transmission reliability.
- Leading technical validation and testing for transmission reliability data and systems.
- Actively seeking ways to build, challenge, and add value within the scope of assignments.
- Collaborate with business units and stakeholders to meet strategic initiatives, promote teamwork, and deliver accurate, timely results.
- Develop and maintain transmission performance metrics and report FE transmission outage performance to internal stakeholders.
- Provide reliability goals and analytical support for recommendations.
- Querying large amounts of data from iTOA, OPPM, and other data sources, interpreting the data and analyzing results using statistical techniques.
- Researching industry best practices and new methods and alternative measures for performance.
- Compiling and analyzing reliability performance for communication, leadership updates, and improvement opportunities.
- Actively seeking ways to build, challenge, and add value within scope of assignments.
- Building relationships and credibility across the organization.
- Facilitate meetings and workshops to drive continuous improvement for meeting strategic initiatives.
- Promoting a team environment to support reaching goals and meeting deadlines.
- Contributing to solutions by taking the initiative to develop alternatives and recommendations.
- Delivering quality and accurate work within established deadlines.
- Providing storm support, as needed, including off-hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Travel may be required at times across the FirstEnergy system.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Management, Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, or related discipline is preferred, along with a minimum of 4 years’ related work experience required. In lieu of a degree, 7 years of related work experience will be required. The experience may include data reporting, analysis, costing, and recommendations, along with a thorough understanding of the subject matter.
- Project Management experience preferred. Ability to drive and manage simultaneous projects and tasks to completion within established deadlines and with a high degree of quality, accuracy, and reliability.
- Must be proficient with PC software applications including Microsoft Office Word and
- Working knowledge of querying tools (i.e., Structured Query Language (SQL), Hyperion, Toad, QlikView) is a plus.
- Knowledge in FE systems: iTOA, OPPM, TAMI, Cascade, EMS, SAP, and PI.
- Skilled in the development, collection, organization, and analysis of information from a variety of sources to develop reports, providing information on backlog and productivity.
- Relevant experience includes identifying and acting on process improvements, analyzing and forecasting required work, and monitoring requirements to completion.
- Demonstrate a questioning attitude to continue to learn, produce results, and strengthen existing relationships.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with employees at all levels of FirstEnergy to aid and resolve problems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and strong analytical ability are required. Ability to effectively present complex subject matter to all levels of management.
