Position Overview:

A Driver will safely operate Company vehicles to deliver linen/textiles to customers. This position is also responsible for the accurate weighing of soiled and clean linen that is returning into and leaving the facility. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Evergreen may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among the locations, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

Essential Duties:

  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspection
  • Responsible for cleanliness of vehicle
  • Makes minor repair(s) to vehicles to keep them in good working order
  • Accurate weighing of soiled linen as it is returned to the facility
  • Deliver clean linen to the customers in a timely manner
  • Load and unload product at each facility
  • Take inventories at the facilities in the linen rooms
  • Unload clean linen and stock on shelves at required locations
  • When necessary, pick up the soiled linen at the facility when it is on the floor
  • Maintain quality customer service and interaction with customers
  • Ensure packing slips are signed
  • Return packing slips to the Evergreen Cooperative Laundry Administrative Office
  • Fuel vehicle and maintain the receipts for accurate accounting
  • Ensure that all receipts are turned in to the Evergreen Cooperative Laundry Administrative Office
  • Maintain accurate recordings in drivers logs
  • Maintains a drivers log and presents billing forms to designated representatives
  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner
  • Participates in regular safety meeting, safety training and hazard assessments
  • Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated
  • Maintain a clean driving record
  • Maintain and provide proof of Driver Medical Card, if necessary
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Experience/Knowledge:

  • HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Points: 2.0 or less on Driver’s license

  • Ability to present self in a highly professional manner to others and understands that honesty and ethics are essential.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect.
  • Ability to maintain a professional relationship with all coworkers, vendor representatives, supervisors, managers, customers and client representatives.
  • Ability to use all relevant electronic and communication devices.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in all OSHA and local requirements related to all assigned work.

  • Attends work and shows up for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity in light of Evergreen time and attendance policy and/or client operating hours.

  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and some holidays.
  • Must be able to meet delivery times and requirements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses.
  • Significant walking or other means of mobility.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours).
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds.
Working Conditions (may add additional conditions specific to defined work location):
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a controlled, temperate environment; however, may be exposed to heat/cold.
  • Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends, and extended hours as business dictates.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • Wears protective clothing and/or Personal Protective Equipment required by the work environment or governmental regulations.
