SUMMARY Provides instruction in the foundation of jazz and contemporary music that supports performance, theory, technical competency, styles, and interpretation through classes, workshops, and ensembles. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Develop and present curriculum that provides students with an experience in the art form that is age appropriate and challenges students to achieve at the highest level Work with students from diverse backgrounds to educate and improve skills Assess student’s progress by grading assignments Organize and present a culminating event that represents the quality of work undertaken over the course of the semester Collaborate with colleagues to develop and/or modify curriculum as needed to meet changing industry trends and college initiatives
