What the position is: The Security Specialist supports the Director of Corporate Security with regulatory compliance and the corporate security program. Administrative tasks and projects will also be assigned, as necessary. Essential Functions: Oversee the FBI Fingerprinting Database as per the Aircraft Operator Standard Security Program (AOSSP) also known as RAPBACK.Complete the Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) for CommuteAir employees as well as Security Threat Assessment per the Transportation Security Administration requirements. Reconcile Criminal History Records Checks and court documentation.Maintain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Issuing Officer and SIDA Authorized Signatory credentials for CLE as the backup SOC location.Complete badge applications for CommuteAir bases, including ID verification and work eligibility.Coordinate timely CLE SIDA training and CLE SIDA appointments to ensure operational continuity.Maintain accurate records and develop periodic reports for senior management.Liaise with airport authorities, airlines, and government agencies to ensure regulatory compliance.Perform required audits of systems and records.Facilitate the transmission of department-specific information to employees.Monitor and manage facility access control systems.Serve as a backup to the Director of Corporate SecurityPerform other duties as needed. General requirements & qualifications: At least 4 years of recent security, law enforcement and/or regulatory compliance experience and/or a 4-year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.Must be able to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and pass a pre-employment drug test.Excellent communication skills and fluent in the English language (written and spoken).Self-starter and must be able to work under minimal supervision.Proficiency and working experience with data entry and MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Experience with criminal case management and federal regulations preferred.Ability to travel up to 30% of your work week and be available after normal business hours, as necessary. Physical Requirements:Sedentary Work Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body, sedentary work involves sitting most of the time and walking /standing occasionally with or without accommodation. Visual Acuity:Includes inspection, close assembly, clerical administrative; This is a minimal standard for use with those whose work deals largely with preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, computer, extensive reading. Environmental Conditions:Inside environmental conditions; protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
