What the position is: The Lead Crew Scheduler is responsible for the day-to-day operations in the Scheduling department, including the daily flight scheduling. Oversees the Schedulers, be available for questions, addressing issues that arise, coaching the team to handle unique situations. Essential Functions: The Crew Scheduler Lead directly supervises all Crew Scheduling functions and personnel.Monitors schedulers in the performance of tasks such as maintaining the crew management system, managing daily reserves, daily check lists, managing all IOE flights, telephone procedures and departmental projects.Provides guidance to schedulers on necessary crew changes due to sick calls, training requirements or other unforeseen circumstances.The Crew Scheduler Lead executes operational plans during irregular operations caused by weather, ATC, maintenance or security disruptions.Ensures that schedulers perform assigned tasks in a logical order, reassess priorities consistently and adhere to the approved system control communication process when making all decisions.Provides coaching and development opportunities to all schedulers as needed.Ensures the Crew Schedulers are receiving the proper training to perform their daily duties in accordance with the applicable FARs and union contracts. The Crew Scheduler Lead works directly with Crew Payroll,Training Records, Dispatch, Chief Pilot and Inflight departments to ensure accurate flight hours, training hours, premium pay, leave status, and terminations are reflected in scheduling systems.Regular attendance is essential for all positions at CommuteAir.Other duties as assigned. General requirements & qualifications: Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent problem-solving skills.Intermediate level computer knowledge and typing skills, ability to learn company operations software.High school diploma or equivalent. Some college coursework is a plus.Minimum age is 21 years.Knowledge of airline and aviation terminology and/or aviation experience preferred. Organized with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities regularly. Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language.Legally authorized to work in the USA. Schedule:The Crew Scheduling Department operates on a 24/7 basis with various shifts from 1st, mid, 2nd, and 3rd. Work (4) 10-hour shifts/days with 3 consecutive days off each week. All employees must be able to work any shift as needed, and shifts are bid quarterly. Physical Requirements:Sedentary Work Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body, sedentary work involves sitting most of the time and walking /standing occasionally with or without accommodation. Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.Ability to comprehend verbal instructions in person and by phone and apply to the situation. Visual Acuity:Includes inspection, close assembly, clerical administrative; This is a minimal standard for use with those whose work deals largely with preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, computer, extensive reading. Environmental Conditions:Inside environmental conditions; protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
