Cleveland-Cliffs, Coshocton Works, located in East Central Ohio, a stainless steel finishing operation and one of the nation’s leading producers of flat rolled stainless steel, has an opening for an Process Control Specialist. The Process Control Specialist will be responsible for managing and overseeing the current control systems in place as well as updating and upgrading systems in a 24-hour operation.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the plant’s Level 2 systems which collect, process, and store, process data for management consumption. These systems include servers, computers, input/output devices, networking, custom software, and databases
  • Specify, configure and maintain any computers that are involved in data collection or furnace control
  • Specify, configure and maintain any input/output devices that are used to collect data or signal alarms and notification
  • Specify, configure, and maintain the Level 2 fiber network and switches
  • Develop and maintain software for Level 2 data collection, processing, storage, and presentation
  • Maintain security, software, and data stored on Level 2 process servers.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues relates to the plant’s Level 2 systems
  • Interact with various departments to ensure Level 2 data is delivered accurately and timely

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An Associate's degree in Computer Science (or related field such as Programming/Software Development) and/or 4+ years of equivalent experience
  • Strong application development skills using Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Information technology experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Fundamentally understand networks, servers, and databases

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent discipline)
  • 5+ years experience with the development and support of process control applications in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with the development and support of process control applications in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in networking, SQL Server, device communication, HMI data displays
