Job Description

Job Title: 2nd Shift Machine Operator
Location: Cleveland, Ohio 44103
Shift: 2nd Shift (typically 2pm – 10:30pm, training must be done on 1st or 3rd shift)
Pay Rate: $19 per hour
Benefits: Weekly Pay, Medical/Dental/Vision plus pay raise after 90 days
Champion Personnel is seeking a dependable 2nd Shift Machine Operator. All raw materials arrive in steel coils, and finished rods are custom-designed to customer specifications.
Straightening Machine Operation:
  • Load rods onto straightening machines
  • Cut rods to specified lengths according to customer requirements
Other areas you may work in:
Polishing Area
  • Apply chemical coatings to finished steel rods to ensure a smooth, shiny surface and provide corrosion resistance
  • Inspect rods for surface quality and compliance with customer specifications
  • Carefully place completed rods into cardboard shipping tubes for distribution
Grinding Area:
  • Operate grinding machines to remove excess debris and hardened materials from rods
  • Monitor machine performance and ensure product quality
Coating Support / Rod Holders:
  • Load finished rods into rod holders that support materials throughout the coating process
Qualifications:
  • Previous machine operating or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Comfortable working in a production/shop floor environment
  • Ability to follow detailed specifications and work instructions
  • Strong attention to quality and detail
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. by hand
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Work Environment:
  • Industrial manufacturing setting
  • Handling of steel rods and chemical coatings
  • PPE required (including steel-toed boots)
